    Kalamakari, is a popular method of painting using natural dyes onto cotton or silk fabric with a bamboo pen or kalam.

    Kalam means pen and Kari means work.

    Hence Kalamkari is the work done with pen..   

     

    L'art du Kalamkari, est une méthode populaire de peinture (pratiquée principalement de l'Andhra Pradesh) usant de pigments naturels  appliqués à l'aide d'un stylet ou d'un kalam en bambou sur étoffes de coton ou de soie .

     Kalam signifiant stylet et Kari oeuvre.

                                                           La traduction la plus juste serait graphisme...
